Three Quakes homered in this one, Anthony Norman, Abel Nieves, and Brian Walker all homered, the latter two hitting back-to-back jacks in the top of the third. The closest the Storm ever got was one down in the fourth and sixth, but Rancho posted another four insurance runs in the seventh and shut down Lake Elsinore the rest of the way. Bobby Cassevah got his first win of the season, in relief.

The 66ers trailed from the sixth inning on, but made it interesting in the top of the ninth when Matt Berezay hit a no-outs three-run homer, part of a five-run rally that came short. In fact, Mavericks reliever Bryan Harris, the fourth pitcher used by High Desert and one of eight appearing in the game, failed to record an out in the ninth facing six batters, and was eventually replaced by Shawn Kelley, who finished the game.
